Miss Carolina Foothills

Ashley Leonard

My journey with Miss America began seven years ago, and I have been transformed because of it. As a fifteen-year-old girl, I jumped into my first pageant unaware of the confidence and passion it would instill. I am now dedicated to becoming a better version of myself every time I compete, win or lose. The Miss America Opportunity is where I have found passion, consistency, life-long friendships, and have developed into a strong and confident woman.

As Miss Carolina Foothills, my mission is to decrease domestic violence rates in North Carolina through my Community Service Initiative, Love Doesn’t Hurt. With this initiative, I advocate for healthy relationships by partnering with domestic violence agencies across the state, and by educating internationally through my podcast. I look forward to creating relationships with new agencies and to becoming a 501(c)(3) this year!

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S.P.H. in Nutrition, and will be returning to UNC Chapel Hill next fall to continue my education and obtain an M.P.H. in Dietetics. I hope to one day open a nutrition consulting business where I am able to fight against body shaming and weight stigma. Through the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Organization, I have earned $41,000 in in-kind scholarships and $3,500 in educational scholarships!

In my free time, I enjoy hiking around our beautiful state and in national parks - I’ve been to three this year alone! I also enjoy trying new healthy recipes, going to Pilates classes, and playing with my puppy, Otto.

I hope you come along on my journey to Miss North Carolina, which will take place at High Point Theater, June 25th-28th, 2025. You can follow me on social media @MissCarolinaFoothills_NC to keep up with everything I’m doing!
